Hello Centering Friends
Do any CenteringPregnancy sites get referrals from any community resources or other providers? I am working on our marketing plan and was considering which providers may have the need to refer to CenteringPregnancy.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Shannon!
This is a great question and something I have been working on for our marketing plan as well.
We created a beautiful concise bilingual flier that explains what centering is and lists the services we provide. I have distributed those at crisis pregnancy centers throughout the city and as part of an FQHC, we are able to initiate their care without insurance, which is a big draw for a decent percentage of the population.
I also am working on becoming a partner with "make your date" an initiative by the city of Detroit to reduce barriers to prenatal care for our city. They will be a referral source for us as well.
We are also going to talk with local urgent cares and other independent clinics that are frequented by patients for pregnancy tests and don't do prenatal care. If there are other community referrals that people have connected with, I would love to know what other people have come up with as well!

Hi Shannon and rlossing, In Cincinnati we have 4 locations that offer CenteringPregnancy. I was planning to make a flyer for community health workers and home visitors to give to their clients who are pregnant. rlossing: I really like that you are reaching out to pregnancy centers and creating bilingual material. Also I never thought about reaching out to urgent care centers, so I'll definitely look into that. Thank you for sharing your questions! I would love to connect with you both some more to learn about your work in CenteringPregnancy. I'm a program coordinator working with two hospitals to expand the number of groups through funding from Ohio Department of Medicaid. So I am also thinking about how to spread awareness of CenteringPregnancy. OCPIM (Ohio Collaborative to Prevent Infant Mortality) is convening the 4th Infant Mortality Summit e in Cincinnati this year (Dec 11-Dec 12). It's free and you can register here: www.cincinnatichildrens.org/OCPIMSummit18. If you are attending this, please let me know as I would love to connect with you in person.
