I am attaching the brochures we put in every "Prenatal Packet" we give to newly pregnant patients. Also, Kristen, as far as community marketing: at least in NYC a lot of churches and community centers will hold health fairs, especially in nice weather (spring/summer)- see if you can get a table! I am attaching a picture from an event near our upstate Centering practice where our staff set up a table, including an example of the belly casting they do toward the end of the sessions. Katrina Organ I love how you use photos of your real Centering patients! Your brochure is clear, simple and lovely to look at. Thank you so much for acknowledging CHI on it, too! FYI, we have beautiful NEW logos and graphics that you can use for future printing. We'll be rolling them out with the new portal but they are available for use now. You can email me, nlewis@centeringhealthcare.org for the files if you would like to update your brochure with them.

We had our marketing department make these for each of our groups so that the patients can see who their doc is and have all of the dates on one sheet. AOGC_Centering_Halfsheet_2017_1.pdf (205.68 KB)

I am interested in Centering because: I want to make a difference in someones life for the better and help educate them about the better way of healthcare. I am passionate about what I do with our Centering Program at Kaiser Permanente. I love the lifelong friendships that I build while going thru the journey of pregnancy for all of my patients. I love the personal care that patients receive and I love to keep our groups fun and current. Coming up on being accredited for a year in Jan 2018 and we have grown so much. Already starting 2 groups a month starting Dec 2017, beat our goal to start 2 by a month. #MicDrop

I am the Centering Coordinator, I am trying to get all my coworkers talking about Centering and excited about Centering. From the first touch of the patient at their NOB intake , to them checking in for their appt , to the MA rooming them to them seeing the midwife, we have numerous chances to put Centering in that patients head first. So I have put together a raffle basket, each time the patient is interested and MUST sign up then I get an extra patient label and put it in a jar but put the person who recruits the patient initially, I put her name on the label. Everyone including the midwives think it's a great idea and a great way to get others excited about Centering, im collecting labels for 1 month , the beginning of April I will draw someone's name. She they can enter as many times just as long as they recruit a patient, gonna b awesome! I'm going to do a different theme every month but it will b about Centering, this month is mind, body and spirit.

amydonaldson63 I love the basket! (especially the Tazo tea!) How many of the staff are participating thus far? And is there anything else that you do to boost staff morale?

amydonaldson63 I love the basket! (especially the Tazo tea!) How many of the staff are participating thus far? And is there anything else that you do to boost staff morale? Ishana I have typed out a sheet of paper and I have included all staff, I think its important to add all staff who is involved in the recruiting process of Centering, from the scheduler who answers the first call from the patient who is coming to our clinic for their care. To the RN's who do the new ob intakes, to the MA's who room the patient to the providers either a midwife or an OB/GYN. In my opinion its important to include everyone and to get everyone excited so there is more talk about it. We have been doing the raffle for a week now and still have 3 weeks to go and already have 7 ppl in the drawing. From providers to the scheduler. I am excluded and so is the Lead Midwife but we want others to talk about it and get the word out there because we know we already do that. Its pretty awesome. So there is about 25 - 30 staff members who are involved. Its pretty exciting to go from being the only one (out of the MA's) who talks to the patients about what Centering is and what it offers to even our MA's who don't do Centering and at times also work at a different clinic (once a wk our midwives and 1 MA travel to a different clinic to help out with access) but that MA has even recruited a patient and that patient called ME and wanted to make sure she was signed up because she heard about all the fun stuff that Centering does. That is exciting and I am glad we are doing this. To boost morale on my end and to get them excited in their Centering groups or upcoming Centering groups that are starting I get their opinion on maybe what kind of snacks would they like for their patients or if there is a different activity or ice breaker that they may want to do or what kind of different crafts would they like for the craft table (when patients make their name tag) I also give them props like at our staff meetings, if I hear or see that they go the extra step for our Centering patients then I make sure I show them recognition. If they get the recognition for going above what they may usually do then they will most likely do it again. Our Centering patients like that extra personal care. I also make sure I COMMUNICATE to them. Any pertinent information they need to know about any possible changes or something we are going to start doing differently like giving the patient evals at session 7 or 8 since some of our patients don't quite make it to session 9. Lol for obvious reasons. I don't tell them all the particulars about everything but things I feel they need to know I tell them. Sometimes too much information can overwhelm someone ya know. I hope this post helps you Ishana, -Amy
