One of the greatest threats to Centering practice sustainability is the loss of trained staff. Who has experienced this challenge and how have you dealt with it? Are you able to hire people already trained in Centering facilitation? What types of training supports would ease the burden of training new staff?

We are a large organization and this has been a significant challenge for us. Just recently we hosted a training session and sent 20 staff members. We have already had three of those individuals transfer positions or move on from the organization. We don't have a great strategy currently, but are working on developing a support system among our five locations that offer Centering to help provide coverage for one another in times of need. Additionally, as Centering Coordinator at our site, I am able to cover any of our locations as a facilitator. One thing that would be helpful would be being able to provide on site Centering training with internal trainers. We were looking into sending two qualified staff members to an In House Trainer preparation course.

I am interested in Centering because: I feel it is the best way to get pregnancy care! Especially seeing how teens are with the model!
