Here is an innovative approach to Centering from Palmetto Health in South Carolina -
We no longer offer traditional prenatal care or CenteringPregnancy prenatal care. We have incorporated CenteringPregnancy within our traditional care effective January 2017. All eligible patients will be placed in a Centering group. These patients will have their first OB appointment with a physician followed by two Centering sessions. At approximately 20-24 weeks they will be offered an appointment with a physician in addition to their Centering session or they may opt to not have a mid-pregnancy physician appointment. Three Centering session will follow with again a physician appointment third trimester at approximately 30-32 weeks followed by three more Centering sessions. We theorize that this will please the patients and physicians within the group as well as allow for us to co-manage higher risk patients within Centering, thereby, normalizing their pregnancy.

Hello. Do you have a script on how you tell the patients that they will have their first visit in a group? How are these patients routed into a group?
