I am a Student Nurse Midwife in the DNP Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. The focus of my DNP Project is "Effects of Group Prenatal Care on Postpartum Family Planning." I am planning a retrospective chart review to assess for differences in outcomes for patients who received CenteringPregnancy group prenatal care vs. standard individual prenatal care. I have attached an overview presentation on my project with additional details. For those who have conducted research and evaluation on postpartum family planning outcomes: - Are there any additional covariates that you recommend I include/exclude in my analysis?
- Any suggestions for how to frame my outcomes?
- Any recommendations for where to report my findings?
- Does CHI have plans to add postpartum contraception outcomes to CenteringCounts? It seems that it is a part of CenteringParenting but not CenteringPregnancy.

Hi Mallory! Yes we will have outcomes related to family planning for CenteringParenting in CenteringCounts online. Unless a site is doing the continuity model of CenteringPregnancy to CenteringParenting, it will be hard to track additional outcomes after the postpartum or reunion visit. Here is a snip of the moms' outcomes summary so you can see what will be captured:

Mallory, what a wonderful surprise to see your smiling face on CenteringConnects.! I cannot thank you enough for sharing your research work and your presentation. Absolutely first class!!! Your research is so valuable for demonstrating optimal care and increasing the knowledge base for the CenteringPregnancy Model! I am thrilled to think that once the results are in that you will be using them to do advocacy work. It is because of folks like YOU that will move Centering into the mainstream as care for all women. Thank YOU so much! Best wishes Genie
