Hi Everyone, I'm new to the site and we are in hopes of starting up centering at our site soon. I was wondering if anyone operates off of "protocols" for prental/centering care? As an NP, I have worked in both types of employment settings, one with protocols and one just following national guidelines. My current site would like NP to work off of protocols for care. If anyone uses protocols or has any references, I would greatly appreciate the information. Thank you in advance!

Without more information it is difficult to craft what feels to be a useful response. Protocols typically describe process and Centering is all about the Centering process. Without knowing the specific protocols it is hard to know how they might support or conflict with the Centering process. More details or examples might be helpful.

For example, we have protocols now for management of Amenorrhea; dysmenorrhea; IDA in non-pregnant; Contraceptive method initiation; BV; Candidiasis; CG/CT. They are written in a SOAP format of what is expected.
It's like taking a national guideline, writing it in SOAP and putting it on paper and calling it a "protocol" to follow. The backbone of how care is expected to be provided.
Does that help to clarify what I am needing?
Thank you again
