Hi, I was just wondering what the Centering definition of "newborn" entails. Is it birth to three months, or is it defined differently? Thank you!

Hi Annie, This is a great question that just prompted much discussion here at CHI. The context for the question about how many newborn patients do you have each year is to understand the scale of your practice, and if there is sufficient scale to create groups. However, families may join CenteringParenting a number of ways in the first 2-3 months of their new baby's life: - Enroll directly from CenteringPregnancy so the baby may be anywhere from 2 - 6 weeks old at the first group session
- Enroll whenever your typical first visit after baby's arrival (birth or adoption)
- Enroll at session 2 or later based on your group's receptiveness to welcoming new members at later groups
So I think birth to three months as you mentioned is a good definition for the purpose of understanding patient scale. I hope this helps, thanks for asking us!
