Hi,
We are submitting grants to fund our CenteringPregnancy program and one of our funders wants to know, for the average clinic during its initial year of operating CP, how many women would enroll, and how many would complete CP (so a completion rate).
I believe Centering collects this information from sites, so if you could share this information with me that would be very helpful.
If you like, you can email me here: awu@ravenswoodfhc.org
Thank you so much,
Annie

Hi Annie,
We don't have a lot of good data yet on retention, but as more sites are using CenteringCounts Online we will soon! What we can share, though, is that a conservative average of the number of patients seen in CenteringPregnancy is about 120 per year. This is typical of a site starting one new group per month. We have many sites starting multiple groups per month, and also some smaller sites that start one every six-eight weeks. Without exception, we hear from our sites that attendance is better in Centering than for individual visits, including the post-partum visit.
In terms of "completion," we leave it up to our sites to determine how many Centering visits is considered the minimum dose. Our data system tracks outcomes for women who attended two or more sessions, but sites may decide that they only want to track women who come to a minimum of five or six sessions. I hope this is helpful, please let us know what else you might need for your proposal!

Based on the accreditation renewal reports I have reviewed from CenteringPregnancy practices over the past 5 years, on average about 90% of patients enrolled in Centering attend 2 or more group sessions. The average number of group sessions attended by those patients is about 7-8.
