Hello Michigan sites! I wanted to share a grant opportunity from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, BCBSM Foundation and the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services for addressing perinatal opioid use disorder. This may be a great opportunity for CenteringPregnancy sites who are interested in leveraging the model for opioid use disorder patients. If you are interested in learning more this innovation, there was a CircleUp in May dedicated to this topic (you can watch the recording here). Details on the grant opportunity are included below. Grant Opportunity: Addressing Perinatal Opioid Use Disorder
A new grant opportunity, Addressing Perinatal Opioid Use Disorder, is a collaborative effort between Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation, and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. This program focuses on organizations working within the state's 10 Regional Perinatal Quality Collaboratives. The program will award a total of $200,000 to begin new projects, enhance or expand existing projects to reduce opioid use and harm to women and their infants. This initiative will focus on prevention of and response to opioid use disorder among women, their children and infants during pre-natal, pregnancy and post-natal stages. Proposals must be received by August 31, 2019. Information about the program and how to apply is available at bcbsm.com/innovations
