Hi everyone! I work at a family medicine office where we have had Centering Pregnancy since 2016. We are shooting to have Centering Parenting up and running by Spring of 2020. Unfortunately, I am meeting with management next week to discuss having my Centering Coordinator position eliminated. I am really sad thinking about not being able to continue what I love. With that being said, has anyone had Centering Pregnancy and Parenting be successful without having a Coordinator? Please share any information that you all may have. Thanks!

www.centeringconnects.org/thread/1787/coordinator-job-descriptionHi Lauren, How stressful! I hope we can help you make the case to keep the work going. There is really no way to manage the change from individual to group care without an empowered and resourced coordinator and a representative and effective Steering Committee. There is some excellent info in the thread above of all the work involved with Centering coordination. There is also a need to have an identified medical lead aka Centering Director. It is a condition of the MOU as part of your implementation award that there be a Centering Coordinator with release time for Centering work, so you may want to have that information handy. I hope some others chime in here but I realize time is short so please let me know if there is more that CHI can provide for you!
