We did our first " connecting, education" centering group this week with web-ex. We felt good about it but we are submitting our grant for Zoom tomorrow. We feel that would work out much smoother.

I am interested in Centering because: I started the University of Louisville Physicians Centering Program in 2016. I love the supportive model of group care and have hopes that it will improve the prenatal care that our mixed urban and rural population receives.

Our Academic Medical Center Practice has chosen Bluejeans as the telehealth platform for our entire group. Is anyone else using Bluejeans for virtual Centering groups? I am trying my first next week. Any tips or pitfalls?

We are not. I was actually laid off from my position as Centering Coordinator the end of March. Has anyone else been laid off? Laurie, I'm so sorry to hear this! I hope that it will not be a permanent lay off... |

Hi! we started the video calls with Zoom but we noticed that a lot of our patient population were having issues with the app or joining the meetings, so we changed the video chats to facebook. I created a work page in facebook, and I'm doing private groups for each of our Pregnancy and Parenting groups, (all of this was approved by admin). I have done 2 calls through facebook but the show rate was much better than Zoom, and our patients really like it. I try to schedule the video call the same day that they were supposed to be in group and so far is going good. Hi! How has it worked using Facebook? Has it been successful? I imagine Facebook is easier for patients and families to navigate compared to other platforms, and we are thinking of trying this in our clinic. Also wondering about HIPAA compliance? Thanks! - AV |
