Hi all, I'm wondering how people are getting the equipment for the self assessment to patients (e.g., BP cuff, scales, measuring boards, tape measurers, etc.). Are patient/parents picking them up at the clinic? Are you purchasing them and then mailing them to patients? Are you having them sent directly to the patient by Amazon or a medical supply company? If so, what companies are you using? What do folks think is the safest way to get patients/parents this equipment? Liz

We are writing prescriptions for BP home monitoring, and we are using fetal movement as the new vital sign for fetal wellbeing. If someone already has a scale they can monitor weight, but we're not dispensing any other supplies for our pregnant clients. We're following the Jefferson MFM protocol for adapting our PN visit schedule.

I found out that YES the Managed Cares (Medicaid) does provide blood pressure cuffs with a prescription. Not sure about billing, but it looked like they all covered it in some capacity.
