CHI's Certification program offers recognition to Centering facilitators for their expertise and advanced facilitation skills.
In our July newsletter we featured Helen Espinoza Miranda, CCF. She has been facilitating both CenteringPregnancy and CenteringParenting groups at Lawndale Christian Health Center in Chicago, Illinois, for over 9 years.
Helen “enjoys doing Centering groups because of the unique approach to prenatal and pediatric care. Through the group setting, participants are able to build a community with people that they would not have otherwise met. The clinical staff are also able to build a unique bond with participants that allows for a more thorough knowledge of our patients’ backgrounds and experiences. Centering provides a space for people to grow in their journey and not feel alone throughout it. My favorite part about Centering is seeing groups transition from pregnancy to parenting and seeing the fruits of their journey grow.”
CCF certification strengthened her experience and knowledge in facilitating groups. It provided her with an opportunity to grow as a facilitator and have a greater Centering network. "It allowed me to feel more confident in my facilitation skills and has helped me in navigating conversations in Centering groups and in the workplace. Becoming a CCF has also provided me with more confidence in my communication skills and public speaking.”
“I would advise other facilitators to take advantage of the opportunity because it is a great way to validate your experience, the opportunity to enhance your facilitator skills and solidify the knowledge that you already have. Centering groups all have a unique dynamic and sometimes that presents its own challenges and through the CCF you gain more confidence in your knowledge on managing those dynamics.”
Becoming a CCF is open to all Centering facilitators. Check the requirements you need to apply. If you're looking to complete the Advanced Facilitation workshop requirement, we are now offering these in a virtual format. Click here to register for upcoming dates in 2020.
