Hello Centering Counts, There are people in my organization who are advocating for groups visits to resume (in person) in March. Thoughts?

Hi Anne, Some sites are trying to return to group visits in person depending on what space they have available that works with social distancing guidelines, clinic support and reducing the size of the group, if needed, to make the group space work. If you have a large space and feel it is safe, it's really up to your site to make those decisions. Some sites have decided to initiate or continue with virtual groups, some amended schedules and doing the clinical assessments in break out rooms during the group sessions. We have provided multiple resources to sites to help with adapting in-person groups to a virtual format. Please let us know if you have accessed these resources on the Portal or if you need more information about these. Take care, be well and stay safe, Lynn

Hello everyone,
We are considering resuming in-person CenteringPregnancy sessions in September. Has anyone else started planning on switching from a Virtual format? If so, what is your plan? Do you plan to offer a hybrid version or back to the original model of Centering? Will you have partners and/or Community visitors present or will they attend virtually?
Looking forward to your input.

Has anyone held a hybrid group? We are piloting a hybrid with our next session being in clinic. We have given the patients the option of attending virtually or in person, for their own comfort with covid. Our concern is keeping both those on zoom and those in clinic engaged in the same activities. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions?

Hello Corayma, In case this is helpful, an excerpt from our CenteringPregnancy Virtual Playbook: "Creating a mixed-attendance format where some of the participants are in-person and some are connected virtually is not recommended. Facilitating conversations for people in-person and on the screen is difficult and creates less-than-ideal group dynamics. However, occasional exceptions to this could be considered, for example when a patient is hospitalized or on strict bedrest and cannot attend an in-person group and would like to participate virtually."
