Hello!
For those of you that have started or went back to in person groups, can you please share your Covid plan? What are the steps you are following to make in person groups Covid compliant?

I'm glad you posted this question because we are working on trying to develop a plan and I came here to see if anyone had any idea of how to do that! LOL Hopefully someone will have an answer for us.

Hello Everyone, I am excited that we have recently been cleared to start in-person Centering(Yaaayyyy). My leadership is requesting a plan as well, which I am in the process of creating. I think the upcoming webinar from CHI will have great information. But in the meantime, here are a few items I will include in my plan: - Six person total per group(4 patients, 1 provider, 1 co-facilitator)
- Brief informational session on Centering Pregnancy and to new staff and providers in the clinic
- Adjusting Centering Pregnancy session time to 1.5. We usually keep it to the full 2 hours
- Delaying the distribution of snacks until the end of session. Water will be available.
As for our Centering room we have added more hand sanitizer stations, deep cleaned(space has been used in over a year), and added replaceable curtains for assessment time.
This is what I can think of at this moment. I welcome suggestions or questions!
Thank you!

Hello! For those of you that have started or went back to in person groups, can you please share your Covid plan? What are the steps you are following to make in person groups Covid compliant? We recently hosted an exciting Circle Up on Returning to In-person Groups. Interesting insights and learnings where shared. In case you missed the session, the recording is up on the CHI web portal: Webinars --> Pre-Recorded --> page 8 (scroll at the bottom).

Wondering if there is a recording of a discussion or webinar for sites who plan to return in person. Our vaccination rates are dismal and my site is very hesitant to re-starting groups. However, our patients need it more than ever and are interested in participating. Thank you.

Also earlier in this thread are notes from the Circle Up. You can also reach out to your CHI Technical Assistance Manager for help strategizing the return to groups.

For those of you returning to in-person groups, how did you "make the case" to administraion that you and your patients will be safe? What guidelines are you following regarding rates of infection / vaccination in your area? Thanks for any additional insight!

One way to make the case, assuming patients are currently coming in for individual face-to-face visits with their providers and are not being asked to wait in their cars for their appointments, is to talk about the fact they will be sitting in the waiting room with others, and potentially with more other people than in their Centering groups, the risk is probably no different.

Conversation notes:
1) Centering is helping with CV vaccination rates - “patients felt empowered to make the decision”
2) What support does everyone need to transition from virtual to in-person or vice-versa?
Data: What are other sites doing right now (in-person, virtual, mix)? Geographic & model data, examples of how others are doing it. Something to show leadership, make the case for keeping Centering going in whatever format.
“When you hit (these Covid markers) you can feel safe” going back to in-person, ways to know you are safe to bring patients back, make sure everyone feels safe and is not at risk - best practices?
Asymptomatic carrier rates, when very low (define) in-person group OK w/ social distancing & masks
Have any group members become infected? “X number of groups with X # of people” have been safe from transmission
It's a powerful opportunity for vaccination education
