We are thrilled to announce the new Centering Facilitation Workshop that will take the place of our well-known and loved “Basic Facilitation” Workshop. After many months of analyzing workshop feedback and imagining what fresh perspectives the CHI workshop experience could bring to facilitators, we are excited to have this new workshop available for registration. Including the Centering name in the title better represents the engaging spirit and is a more accurate reflection of the workshop’s learning objectives. See the full schedule here. Each cohort of learners will meet virtually or in-person, when safe, to practice facilitation and group management skills using proven Centering techniques such as mindful listening, Acknowledge, Refer, Return (ARR) and asking strategic questions. Participants will complete the workshop ready and eager to plan and lead Centering groups. Important discussions about implicit bias, inclusion and health equity are woven throughout the workshop. Additionally, participants will further their learnings and make connections to the CHI community through independent learning modules. Even if you have participated in basic facilitation training in the past, we encourage you to be re-energized and inspired by our new format. Continuing education credits have been updated to reflect the new 14.25 hours (12 hours and 45 minutes of workshop time and 1 hour and 30 minutes for the pre-work module). Slots are still available! We invite you to register and enjoy the experience for our updated Centering Facilitation Workshop.
