Hi there! I will be starting a new program at my facility for our inpatients located on our high-risk antepartum unit. The goal is to provide our patients with Centering type care since most long term patients lose the opportunity for teaching while inpatient. Also, since the providers are focusing on the medical care only (which is important but not WHOLE care). I'm hoping to help guide these women through their pregnancy and help facilitate relationships among the other patient on the unit.
Looking for any and all advice on this brand new project!
So far I have a small private space located on our unit that has sink and refrigerator for snacks and drinks to provide. I also have an idea to get a speaker of sorts to play music and make the space more inviting.
I would love to have any help reaching out to guest speakers for our group. We are located in Toledo, Ohio. Any state based help would be much appreciated!
Thank you for your time and help!! -Kelsey Suffel BSN, RN, C-EFM

Hello Kelsey! I just saw this thread and wonder if you are in touch with our Centering Advisor who covers Ohio - rwest? She's at rwest@centeringhealthcare.org and may have some helpful thoughts... I hope you were able to start these very special and needed groups!

Hi Kelsey, I recently spoke with a company called SignatureDx that offers a NIPS screening which may be especially relevant to your population. They offered to speak as guests virtually at Centering groups. Please let me know if that would be of interest and I can connect you with them.
In addition, I have another site that is working on a high-risk model. If you would potentially be interested in being connected with them to share thoughts/learnings or collaborate, let me know! Best, Victoria Director of Innovation, CHI

Hi Kelsey, We recently created a new program focused on high-risk, complex fetal patients at Cincinnati Children's Fetal Care Center. Many of our patients are antepartum or high-risk, relocated. We created a 5 week program focused on moms with babies that have serious, complex fetal diagnosis and plan to deliver here at Cincinnati Children's on our L&D unit with baby going to our NICU/CICU. Feel free to reach out if you have questions. I'm sure our team would be happy to connect! Dani (Danielle.Pridgett@cchmc.org)
