I am passionate about what I do with our Centering Program at Kaiser Permanente. I love the lifelong friendships that I build while going thru the journey of pregnancy for all of my patients. I love the personal care that patients receive and I love to keep our groups fun and current. Coming up on being accredited for a year in Jan 2018 and we have grown so much. Already starting 2 groups a month starting Dec 2017, beat our goal to start 2 by a month. #MicDrop

Hi, I'm Judy Vastine, RNC-OB and IBCLC at the El Rio Birth & Women's Health Center in Tucson AZ. We've been a part of CenteringPregnancy for many years. We're very happy to have recently added a Family Practice doc to our CNM providers. Now that many babies (and families) are staying in our practice, we're starting our first CenteringParenting group May 19!
I look forward to learning from all of you.
Judy Hey Judy!!!! That is so awesome! I hope we start Centering Parenting in the future! I love your profile pic it is amazing!!!!!!

Hello, My name is Susan Hodgson, and I'm a midwife in Tacoma, WA. I am the midwife lead for Centering at our location. I've been leading Centering groups since 2013, but I took a year off in 2016 and checked off ticks on my bucket list, traveling to Thailand, Bali, Cambodia, New Zealand, Australia, and Europe. Back to work since December, this week will be session 10 for my July Centering group. I'm excited to facilitate groups again, and I'm renewed to take on the challenges of sustainability. Looking forward to sharing and learning. Warm regards to the community.

I am interested in Centering because: I work closely with the Maternity Clients in our clinic and I believe that Centering is one of the best ways to receive information for mothers, and fathers, in a group environment.

Welcome Linda! I hope you find this community supportive and educational. My first bit of advice is not to refer to your Centering groups as "classes" since it can remind patients of school and they may not have such fond memories of that or they think they will be force to study things. We recommend that you refer to them simply as Centering group sessions. Please let us know what other questions you might have going into your first Centering groups.
