How do you address intimate partner violence and the concept of reproductive coercion in your Centering groups? At a recent Michigan Primary Care Association monthly Centering Coordinators' virtual meeting, Heather L. McCauley, ScD, Assistant Professor of Human Development & Family Studies at Michigan State University presented on " Addressing Intimate Partner Violence and Reproductive Coercion to Improve the Health of Women and Girls." The link between interpersonal violence, coercion and the health of women and girls is established and Dr. McCauley presented strategies (including free resources!) to promote healthy relationships. Many of the strategies and tools are very appropriate for Centering group sessions. Thank you Dr. McCauley for sharing your knowledge and resources with the Centering community!Dr. McCauley's slides: McCauley Addressing Intimate Partner Violen....pdf (2.16 MB) Links to resources: Futures Without Violence safety cardTeen Safety CardClinical GuidelinesHuffington Post pieceNCADV guide
