Study: Centering Reduces NICU Admission risk by 63%

A recent study from a team at Greenville Health System in South Carolina reports that CenteringPregnancy reduced risk of NICU admission by 63%. The matched cohort study used claims data supplied by Anthem. Anthem and other Medicaid managed care organizations in South Carolina pay an enhanced reimbursement to providers for every patient that goes through CenteringPregnancy. During the study period Anthem paid out less than $15,000 in incentive payments while saving over $80,000 from avoided NICU admissions - a return on investment of over 450%.
