Thanks to everyone who participated in the CenteringParenting Network meeting on Tuesday, 11.29. There was rich conversation and many creative ideas shared for promoting CenteringParenting to patients, providers and staff. If you were unable to join us, the link to the meeting video is below. We have moved to the zoom platform, and are excited that this new technology will enable us to host meetings that feel more personal and engaging for all.
Each of the meeting participants identified opportunities within their practices where they have been successful promoting, educating and sharing CenteringParenting success stories. Please feel free to add your own ideas and suggestions to this thread!
Special thanks to Karen Wang for her support and assistance with planning the meeting. We will send out a doodle poll shortly to determine the date for our next meeting in mid-January.
warmly,
Marena & Tanya

- Pediatric provider attends CenteringPregnancy group for infant care session
- Host a "baby shower" for moms in CenteringPregnancy group
- Give gift bags to CenteringPregnancy moms, that contain small gift items and information about CenteringParenting groups
- Pediatric provider joins CenteringPregnancy group for Q&A session
- Newborn nursery visits
- Attend regular meetings for specific departments, including providers, clinical support and admin staff
- Send weekly emails to providers, nurses and MAs with pics and stories
- Provide training for scheduling team, including a script
- Obtain list from CenteringPregnancy Coordinator and make personal calls inviting to continue on to CenteringParenting group
- Make standard of care - all CenteringPregnancy groups continue on together
- Post flyers in all exam rooms
- Train staff to use the 3-step communication strategy to overcome objections (see link below)
- Reach out directly to 2nd or 3rd time moms to invite them to join a group. They have so much to add to the conversations and this experience can be empowering (especially for that mom who had her first child as a teen and may not often feel positive recognition for her parenting)
- Post Centering posters in public areas
- Post photos of CenteringParenting groups (with permission) in public areas
- Post Centering Site Approval certificate in public area
- Post "group care room" signage in public areas
- Make video "commercial" and play in public waiting areas
- Post photos and testimonials on website, Facebook and other social media (with permission)
