When we launched CenteringConnects in mid-2015 we envisioned a virtual community where facilitators and administrators from Centering practices around the globe would engage with one another to problem solve and share new ideas and best practices. We also hoped that we could provide technical assistance where appropriate as well as provide a behind-the-scenes look at Centering for prospective practices, stakeholders and others interested in a deeper dive. Last month we surpassed 1000 members and we realized it is time to let the community tell us what you want from CenteringConnects, after all this is your community. So we are asking you to please tell us: - What's working well?
- What should we do more of?
- What's not working so well?
- What are your thoughts about how can we improve community engagement?
We want to hear from you so please share your thoughts.

Offer short tutorials that show how to navigate Centering Connects in an efficient way. There are so many posts -- and so much information! This can be discouraging when one only has a few extra minutes during the day in which to gather information.

Thanks Jinda! It was great meeting you at the In-House Trainer Prep. I will categorize your response under "better organization" and "improved user guide". I like the idea of having very short video tutorials myself. It's something that we've been discussing for our CenteringCounts Online project.

Hello John,
Just a simple question. Do you or any centering site has a brochure that I can share with our providers? Please let me know. Thanks!

Hi! Caveat: I have been a member for a while, but haven't been a very connected user, so it may be a setting I need to change or something.
In case it's not a setting change, but the intended setup, my request is:
I would like to be able, as a user, to directly message other users who are not staff. Is this a setting or the way it is set up? Is it possible to change it?
Thank you!

Hi Jess,
You can message other users. Along the top menu bar there is a section called "Messages." The trick is, you have to know the user name of the person you'd like to message. Feel free to send me a "test" message if you'd like to practice. My user name is smerrell. Hope this helps!
Best, Shannon

Hi John, Thanks for your ongoing efforts in improving this platform! I would love to see a search bar that would allow me to search for all articles/posts with selected terms. For example, the other day, I was really looking for in-house facilitator forms and couldn't locate anything! Turned out I didn't even have access to the folder, but what a total time-suck! A search bar that would go thru the entire CenteringConnects site would be really helpful! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Jinda

Jinda, I'm sorry that we had not added you to the In-House Trainer group -- that was a manual oversight on our part and not a problem with the CenteringConnects platform per se. I'm also glad to see that you now have been added to that group and have access to the materials you were seeking. We agree that the search function on the site could be more intuitive and simpler. It is very robust but even power users can find it confusing and overwhelming at times. Sadly, we don't have any control over this, it is managed by the hosting service. We would need to port all of our content to another platform...maybe in another couple of years

In case this helps, I find the search results more useful if I start my search from the "Recent Posts" tab rather than the "Home" tab!

I am interested in Centering because: The centering model and facilitative leadership provide families with the support, education & assessments they need to become partners in their own care.

I would like to see the site somehow optimized for mobile devices. I would also like to see an option where members can opt to receive email notifications to their posts or threads they are following in the form of an email digest. I know having to return to the board to follow up on things makes it less interactive and engaging for me, so I follow centering on LinkedIn an keep up with "news" in this way.
My Kaiser San Jose peeps don't seem to have much interest in signing up for another forum as there's a regional phone meeting that happens every month to discuss centering concerns/issues and share facilitation ideas and tips, but as the board becomes more active and if followed topics came to their email. that might encourage more use here?

Hi Pam and thanks for sharing your ideas. The mobile app has been on our radar since the beginning but it generally gets outranked by other priorities -- but we have not given up hope! With regard to an emailed journal, you have that ability now. Just edit your profile and go to the Notifications tab. You will be presented with a variety of options including how often to receive emails and which of the boards you would like to be notified about.

I hate to post this here but can't find a better spot...I am having a terrible time getting ahold of anyone from CHI for site support. For the past 3 months my emails have gone unanswered. I've also called and left a voicemail with no response. Please let me know how I can reach someone who can help. Thanks!

Hi there eyeastI'm so sorry to hear this has been your experience. We've been revamping our customer service capacity and capabilities, and want to make sure we are available to support any question you have! You can always share your question here, particularly if input or thoughts from other Centering sites might be helpful. But for individual support, one great way to access help is to go to our support page help.centeringhealthcare.org/support/homeOur support page has a form that allows you to ask whatever questions you have and is submitted directly to one of our Practice Services Representatives who will get back to you quickly. If your question requires a more in-depth conversation, it will be elevated to your Technical Assistance Manager who will follow up directly. I hope this helps, but feel free to message me here and we can connect further.
