Our site has been undergoing the AAAHC (ambulatory health center regulatory body) accreditation process. As a result of preparations, have been informed quilts for seating and toys we had been using (and washing) aren't allowed and have been removed. Can anyone equip me with some knowledge about what to ask for that will be acceptable and not completely uncomfortable/sterile?

Heidi, I assume that this directive came directly from AAAHC and not someone who may be re-interpreting their guidelines. If that's true then AAAHC must provide guidance around this. They can't just tell you what is unacceptable without telling you what is acceptable. My first thought in answer to your question was gym mats.

Agree with John and have seen washable rubber tiles that fit together used as well.
